Terms of Service
The short, honest version of the deal between you and Sea Window.
The agreement
By using Sea Window you agree to these terms. Sea Window is operated by Lonka Pardhu, an independent developer. You can reach us at support@seawindow.app.
Subscription and billing
Sea Window is a paid app: a subscription that starts with a free trial. Billing is handled by your app store, the Apple App Store or Google Play, through your store account. The price and renewal date are always shown before you pay. You can cancel any time in your store's subscription settings; cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends and you will not be charged. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their standard policies, described in our refund policy.
Forecasts are forecasts
Sea Window provides weather forecasts, which are inherently uncertain. They come from public weather models and can be wrong, sometimes significantly, especially near coastlines and in fast-changing conditions. Actual conditions can and will differ from what the app shows.
Not for navigation
Sea Window is a planning and awareness tool only. It is not for navigation. Never rely on it as your sole source of weather or safety information. Depth and chart layers are reference only. Always consult official forecasts and carry proper equipment.
Limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app, including its weather data, chart and depth layers, route plans and ETAs. You are always responsible for your own decisions on the water. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Your account and content
Sea Window needs an account. Sign in with Apple, Google or email; the routes, trips and settings you save are stored with your account so they follow you between devices. You can delete your account from the Account tab at any time, which permanently removes that data.
Fair use
Please use the app as intended: do not scrape our weather endpoints, resell the data, or attempt to break or overload the service.
Changes
We may update these terms as the app evolves. If a change matters, we will flag it in the app; continuing to use Sea Window after that means you accept the updated terms.
App Store terms
If you got Sea Window from the Apple App Store, these additional terms apply, and Apple requires us to state them.
- This agreement is between you and Lonka Pardhu, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it; we are.
- Your licence is non-transferable and lets you use Sea Window on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms, including through Family Sharing where available.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation; any other claim, loss or cost is our responsibility, not Apple's.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar law.
- If a third party claims that the app infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States government embargo or designated by the United States government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must also comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile data plan.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
